Generations of Passionate Livestock ProducersAJC Berkshires is proud to be a part of a long line of award-winning and quality swine production that spans back several generations. Since the 1940s, the Conover family has taken pride in raising, showing and selling exceptional Berkshires. Founded in 1986, AJC Berkshires which set out on a pathway of passion for breeding Berkshire hogs they believed represented phenotypic quality that serviced the needs of the consumer via the American farmer. That pathway, now almost four decades long, has at times led us a spotlight position and other times far from popularity amongst registered peers, but never led us astray from our passion.
AJYC Yorkshires began in 2012 as Adam believes raising great livestock is not limited to one breed. "Where Structure Hits First" is a philosophy heavily utilized in this unique production program. Our Yorkshire "reach back" program is rooted in the breeding philosophy of building on established Yorkshire "Sire Supremes" of their era. There may be the best AJYC crop of pigs ever developing in the barn. AJC Angus was built by Adam Jay Conover. Thankfully, he married someone whose name started with a "J" so they could keep the program. Both third generation Angus breeders, Adam and Julie were active in 4-H and showed nationally including at the National Junior Angus Show. Taking different paths a few years apart, the two herds merged in 2018 when they purchased a farm in Holden, Missouri. Embryo transfer and artificial insemination along with a great walking bull continues to propel the program forward. Now with two little girls that love life on the farm, the agricultural enterprise has grown to AJC Farms. The registered programs include Angus cattle, Berkshire and Yorkshires hogs. In early 2025, we are now a registered meat distributor and look forward to marketing pork in the state of Missouri. AJC Farms. Genetics that Work as Hard as You Do! |
